Western Kentucky Speedway Rusty Bolt Rules


    Safety Requirements
  • ALL GLASS LIGHTS ETC. MUST BE REMOVED
  • RACING SEATS, BELTS AND WINDOW NETS Mandatory
  • ALL DOORS MUST BE WELDED, CHAINED OR BOLTED SHUT.
  • ALL DRIVERS AND RIDERS MUST WEAR HELMETS, SEAT BELTS LONG SLEEVE SHIRTS AND LONG PANTS.
  • ONE SEAT = ONE WINDOW NET. TWO SEATS = TWO WINDOW NETS.
  • MUST HAVE SAFETY BARS IN PLACE OF WINDSHIELD. (SCREEN RECOMMENDED)
  • FIRE EXTINGUISHER IS MANDATORY
  • FUEL CELL OR TANK MUST BE SECURELY STRAPPED INTO TRUNK AREA.
  • CARS MUST HAVE FIRE WALL BETWEEN FUEL CELL AND DRIVER COMPARTMENT. FUEL LINE MUST EXIT FROM TOP OF TANK OR CELL.
  • ANY RIDERS UNDER THE AGE OF 18 MUST PROVIDE PROOF OF HEALTH INSURANCE IN CASE OF ACCIDENT.
  • DRIVE SHAFT AND ANY ADDED WEIGHT MUST BE PAINTED WHITE AND NUMBERED TO THE CAR.
  • MUST HAVE 360 DEGREE SAFETY LOOP ON FORWARD THIRD OF DRIVE SHAFT.
  • No high performance or race parts allowed
  • Car must be stock/factory. No modifications to motor, suspension, or cars
  • Stock from factory cars, engines, and transmissions.

  • Wheels/Tires
  • Stock wheels or 8” max racing wheels. bead locks allowed.
  • No homemade wheels allowed.
  • 1” lug nuts on all 4 wheels.
  • All 4 wheels must be the same size13” 14” 15”. No staggering wheels.
  • No wheel spacers allowed.
  • V6 front wheel may run stock aluminum wheels.
  • Any dot tire or 8” Hoosier racing tire allowed.

  • Engine
  • V8 engines. Chevy’s allowed with 305”s only. No 307”s. no vortech heads or roller motors. •Fords allowed with 302 only.
  • 307 olds only.
  • V6 cars must run factory engines
  • Engine must be same make as make of car ex. Gm -Gm , ford –ford etc.
  • Maximum .60 bore.
  • Racing oil pans and valve covers allowed.
  • Aluminum Pulleys and aluminum radiators allowed.
  • Camshafts must be hydraulic. 410 lift max.
  • Pistons cannot come out of block.
  • May run screw in or pin in studs. •No porting or polishing of any kind.
  • 305 heads only.
  • Factory rocker arms only
  • Stock cast iron dual plane intakes or factory aluminum intakes only (no high rise or aftermarket intakes)
  • 1 Quadra jet or 4412 2 barrel carbs only with max of 1 inch adaptor plate is necessary.
  • Must be stock and no alterations.
  • V6 fwd cars must run factory fuel infection.
  • Stock cast iron manifolds.
  • No headers.
  • No porting or polishing.

  • Transmission and Rear-ends
  • Autos must have factory size TORQE converters
  • Manual transmissions are allowed with a stock flywheel, pressure plate, and clutch..
  • no racing clutches or lightened flywheels
  • May run 9” ford rear- end. •Floater ok.
  • May run locked rear-ends or front ends
  • No 4x4 or all wheel drives

  • Chassis/ Body
  • 1 shock per wheel.
  • Stock appearing shocks only. No adjustable or rebuildable shocks.
  • May run any suspension spring in stock location.
  • No wedge bolts front or rear. No spring spacers or buc
  • kets.
  • Stock upper and lower A- arms . •stock trailing arms.
  • No aftermarket or modified
  • Must have 4 wheel working brakes.
  • No brake bias.
  • Rwd cars must weight 3200 lbs at end of feature race.
  • Fwd cars must weight 3100 lbs at end of feature race
  • Quick steer and aftermarket power steering allowed
  • No modification to suspension
  • No bump stops.
  • No rear steer.(Rear wheels must be straight.)
  • Body’s must remain as stock as possible.
  • May run aluminum replacement body panels
  • Fender wells may be trimmed for tire clearance. Inner fender wells may be removed.
  • Must have factory floor pan and firewall( to behind rear of seat)
  • Must have some type of sealed firewall between driver and trunk area

  • ROLL BAR AND ROLL CAGE
  • ROLL CAGES MUST BE BUILT FROM STEEL TUBING (NO PIPE OF ANY KIND) 1 1/2 O.D. X .095" WALL THICKNESS. ALL TUBING MUST BE MANDREL BENT AND WELDED WITH ARC, MIG OR TIG. FULL FOUR POST ROLL CAGE WITH AT LEAST ONE HORIZONTAL BAR BEHIND DRIVER FROM LEFT TO RIGHT, IN THE MAIN ROLL BAR. A DIAGONAL BRACE FROM TOP TO BOTTOM IN THE MAIN ROLL BAR. A MINIMUM OF THREE HORIZONTAL DOOR BAR IN PASSENGER SIDE, TWO BRACES FROM TOP OF MAIN ROLL BAR DOWN TO TRUNK FLOOR BEHIND REAR AXLE. A HORIZONTAL FROM LEFT TO RIGHT BETWEEN FRONT CAGE POST AT DASH HEIGHT AND TWO BRACES OR SNOUT HOOP FORWARD FROM DASH BRACE TO FRONT SUB-FRAME HORNS. OTHER BARS OR BRACES TO PROTECT RADIATOR, FUEL CELL, ETC. ARE ALLOWED, BUT MUST REMAIN INSIDE BODY LINES. ROLL BARS MUST PASS TECH
